Pedipur is a medicinal powder. The medicine contains the active substance metenamine, which releases formaldehyde upon contact with acidic sweat. Formaldehyde (methanal) is an organic chemical compound that weakens sweat gland function and inhibits bacterial activity, thanks to which it reduces sweat secretion and inhibits its breakdown by bacteria. Pedipur has a drying, bactericidal and astringent effect. Eliminates sweat odour. The drug is a thick, opaque, white powder suspension.
Indications: Pedipur is used to treat excessive sweating of the feet and hands. For topical use on the skin of the feet and hands.
Composition: 1g medicated powder contains: active substance: metenamine 200mg and auxiliary substances: zinc oxide, talc, glycerol 86%, purified water .
Action: bactericidal, drying, astringent, preventing excessive sweat production and eliminating its bad smell.
Before use the preparation should be shaken. Unless your doctor tells you otherwise, the medicine is usually used: before using the medicine, thoroughly clean the areas of the skin and dry. Apply a small amount of the cream on the skin of the legs and/or hands, rub in and allow to dry. Use the drug no more than 1-2 times a week. After improvement, the treatments can be used prophylactically every 14-20 days.
Contraindications: the drug cannot be used on: open wounds, skin surfaces without epidermis, ulcers, mucous membranes. Hypersensitivity to the ingredients.
Storage : keep out of the reach and sight of children, in an airtight container, at a temperature below 25 degrees Celsius.
Side effects: the drug has no effect on the ability to drive and use machines. The active substance is unlikely to be a risk to the fetus or to breast milk. Because there are no adequate studies, the drug can be used in pregnant and breastfeeding women only after consultation with doctor if the benefits outweigh the risks. Pedipur can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. Prolonged use of the drug may cause local allergic reactions to the skin of the legs and hands. Stop using if you get any side effects.
Interactions : due to the risk of inactivation, do not use with oxidizing agents (potassium permanganate, nitrates), acids, acidic salts, carbonates (magnesium, calcium).
Warnings and precautions: discontinue use if irritation or redness occurs. Please contact your doctor. If you use too much medicine, wash off the skin with water and tell your doctor or pharmacist. In case of accidental ingestion, rash, irritation of the kidneys and bladder, haematuria, nausea and vomiting may occur. Do not use after the expiry date
