Originally from the North Moluccas archipelago in Indonesia, the clove tree is a tree that can reach 15 meters in height. It was introduced to Europe by the Arabs in the 4th century.
 
Clove olejek eteryczny is obtained by distillation from the unopened flower bud (nail) whose olejek eteryczny content is very high (15 to 20%). This process consists of removing the volatile constituents (olejek eteryczny) of the crushed cloves with the steam. Then, the steam condenses in the essence, separating the olejek eterycznys from the hydrosol (water). Its characteristic smell is reminiscent of dentists' offices.
